After scheduling this one, I must admit, I really had second thoughts. I hadn’t factored in how close this was to Christmas, how hectically busy our shop would be and what an overwhelming response I would get! All not withstanding, I was committed and being the positive person that I am, I set about organising the event.

Shortly after the newsletters went out, the bookings started pouring in and before we knew it we were fully booked. I even tried to hold the event over two days but no-one seemed keen to come on the second day.

Yvonne and Feroza came up with some really exciting innovative Christmas packaging ideas to show us. Once everyone had arrived and squeezed into their chairs, Yvonne kept us all captivated with her creations.

For a change, we also taught everyone how to do some crafty work themselves. We made hand made crackers and pompom bows. Some looked a little better than others!

Afterwards, everyone enjoyed the delicious tea that Heather and her Coffee Shop team had prepared.

Everyone went home with a super goody bag of products donated by our suppliers. Henkel supplied a Pritt product, Lanpak a packet of serviettes, Exquisite Stationery a box of perfumed cards, The Crunchy man a double pack of yoghurt coated crunchies. RNA a current magazine plus we added a carrier of our famous cardboard shapes.

Before everyone went home inspired we draw six names out of a box to see who would win a Merrypak gift voucher to spend in our store.

Thanks to all of our staff who worked so hard to make this a very special occasion and to our suppliers for their contributions.

Hope to see you at the next Value Function!

Letter from our customers

I wanted to say thank you for the last value function, this was my second one attended, and me and my mother enjoyed it very much. I love to make up my own packing for gifts. It is so fulfilling to give something unique and creative and see the joy on their faces.
Best wishes

Hi Julie

I did not have time to come and thank you personally for the wonderfully inspiring workshop yesterday morning as I was supposed to be conducting a clinic for matric students rewriting the English exam on Friday at 12 o'clock, and therefore had to hurry out. However, a huge thank you to you and all your staff. It was a wonderful morning and just what I needed to kickstart my creative processes which have been dormant for some time due to work pressures. Having resigned from full-time teaching I will be able to attend more workshops like these and spend more time (and money!) in your fabulous shop.

Thank you again.

To All at Merrypak

Thanks so much for the lovely morning we spent at Merrypak today. We had lots of fun learning to make those bows and enjoyed the tea and eats afterwards. We really appreciate all the trouble you went to in making it such an enjoyable morning.
May your business go from strength to strength.

Kind regards
Myrna Skibbe
